2nd February 2018

This term’s event will be on Friday 2nd February, when we are delighted to welcome Riding Lights Theatre Company to Worcester.  They are touring with their new production, “Faith In The Questions”, which is a dynamic blend of theatre and discussion.  It includes a new one act play, “Counting The Questions”, by Nigel Forde, followed by conversation with leading scientists.

A respected scientist and a Christian, Job’s work is wrestling with the unpredictable as well as predictable structure of the universe.  Is God really in control?  When Job’s world is shaken to the core, how can he re-assemble the pieces of the puzzle, both professionally and spiritually?

Compared with the centuries long hand-in-hand relationship between religious faith and scientific enquiry, recent debate has, for many people, become mistrustful and sharply adversarial.  Which side is God on?  Or is this the wrong question to ask?

There will be a brief interval after the performance for refreshments, and to allow the audience to write and submit their questions, arising from the play or other related issues.  Then there will be a 30-45 minute Q and A session, with a panel of leading scientists/theologians who have a Christian faith.

There is no charge, but booking is essential.  You can book your tickets either on line via Riding Lights’ website, www.ridinglights.org/fitq, or by phoning 01904 613000 or 01905 726662. The content is appropriate for anyone aged 14 or over, though the level of scientific discussion will be principally aimed at those aged 16+, with no upper age limit.
